Where is it?
Golden Park is located approximately 120 km from Sofia, near Lukovit – a town rich in cultural and natural attractions. To reach the park, follow Hemus Highway and continue along the well-marked signs to Lukovit. Shortly before entering the town, as you drive down the road, you will notice a car dealership on the left. Turn immediately after it, and you're on the right track!
What not to miss
There are several treasures in Golden Park that you simply shouldn't miss! One of the main attractions is the floating house, perched in the middle of a lake – it looks as if it came straight out of a children's fairy tale. Nearby, you'll see cozy houses with unique architecture that, with their wooden facades and secluded spots, will make you feel like you're in another world. And for those who want to enjoy a view of the river, the small bridges and calm waters create the perfect backdrop for photos and relaxation.
Exiting the park and turning right, there is a sign for a petting zoo that can be visited, as well as a sign pointing to the starting point of the boat that takes tourists around the pond located next to the Lukovit Hydroelectric Power Plant and the Zlatna Panega River, from which the park gets its name.
How long does it take?
A visit to Golden Park is great for a short trip. To explore the park at your leisure and enjoy its main attractions, you will need about 2-3 hours. This time will be enough to stroll along the beautiful paths, take photos by the river, and enjoy a pleasant picnic amidst nature.

Each little house in the Golden Park carries its own small story, and locals say that each one grants a wish to those who truly believe in miracles. According to legend, if you see the floating house at sunset, it will bring you luck and happiness throughout the year. For an even stronger experience, throw a coin into the river and make a wish – they say that the waters of the Golden Park keep even the most cherished secrets of its visitors!
