Venetsa Cave

Where is it located
Venetsa Cave is located in Northwestern Bulgaria, near the village of Oreshets, Dimovo Municipality, Vidin Province. It is easily accessible, and you can combine your visit with a walk through the surrounding picturesque areas. It's about a 30-40 minute drive from Vidin, making the cave a great destination for a day trip.

Upon entering the cave, don't miss the light show that highlights the colorful formations. Every corner is like a separate painting – white and red stalactites, transparent crystals, and shapes that look like magical creatures from ancient fairy tales. One of the highlights is the stalactite in the shape of a stone flower – a true "crown" of natural beauty!

Did you know that the Venetsa Cave was discovered completely by chance in 1970, during blasting operations near a quarry? But even more interesting is that locals tell a legend of gold hidden somewhere deep within the cave. According to tradition, the entrance to this treasure is revealed only to the bravest visitors who can find the right path in the labyrinth of colorful rocks!
