Route

🏞️ Vihren Hut – Muratovo Lake (approx. 45 minutes)

The route starts from Vihren Hut. Follow the blue and yellow markings, going up the stairs in front of the hut. The path involves a slight ascent over rocks and a short flat section. After about 10-15 minutes, you will reach a small bridge. Instead of crossing it, turn right over the rocks, parallel to the river. This is followed by a 15-minute climb, which is the most difficult part of the route so far. The path turns right, and Muratovo Lake will soon appear before you.

⛰️ Muratovo Lake – Banderishka Porta (approx. 1 hour and 5 minutes)

From Muratovo Lake, turn left and continue uphill over the scree, following the blue and yellow markings. Don't forget to look back to enjoy the view of the lake from above. After crossing the ridge, the path goes through a flatter section. On the left, you will see several lakes from the Ovinati group. Continue along the path, which winds through dwarf pines, until you reach Banderishka Porta – the saddle between Muratov Peak and Donchovi Karauli.

🌿 Banderishka Porta – Sinanishka Porta (approx. 1 hour and 30 minutes)

From Banderishka Porta, follow the blue markings and continue slightly to the right. This section is easier and more pleasant, passing through the area of Golyamo Spano Pole. Along the way, you may encounter herds of cows and wild horses. Be careful if there are guard dogs. After the flat section, a gentle ascent begins towards Sinanishka Porta, which is not difficult but requires attention. From the pass, there is an impressive view of the crystal-clear waters of Sinanishko Lake and the steep white slopes of Sinanitsa Peak.

🏕️ Sinanishka Porta – Sinanishko Lake and Sinanitsa Hut (approx. 30 minutes)

From the pass, a long descent begins towards Sinanitsa Hut – initially over rocks, and then along a soft path through dwarf pines. Although the hut appears close, the descent is long and requires attention.

What not to miss

✔️ The view from the ridge above the lake – the moment you see Sinanishko Lake for the first time from above is simply wow. Definitely take photos, but also enjoy the view without a screen in front of your eyes.

✔️ Rest by the water – the lake is crystal clear and icy cold. Dip your hand or just sit on a rock and listen to the silence.

✔️ A look back at the peaks – this route offers unique panoramic views of Vihren and Kutelo peaks. A real pleasure for the eye (and the lens).

Fun fact

According to an old local legend, in ancient times a young shepherd fell in love with the daughter of a mountain spirit. Their love was impossible because the spirit did not want to give her to a human. After many tears and prayers, the girl decided to sacrifice herself and remain in the human world, but her body turned into a lake – Sinanishko Lake – with a color like her bluest eyes. Since then, they say, its waters bring peace and heal the heart. But only for those who truly love.
