Where is it located

Momin Skok Waterfall is located in the village of Emen, near Veliko Tarnovo. It is part of the Emen Canyon, a natural landmark with stunning rock formations and lush green landscapes.

How to get there:

  • By car: From Veliko Tarnovo, head west towards the village of Emen (about 20 km drive). Once you reach the village, follow the signs to the Emen Canyon, where you will find a trail to the waterfall.
  • On foot: The trail from the beginning of the canyon to the waterfall is short, and the ascent is easy, suitable even for beginner hikers.

Fun fact

According to legend, the waterfall is called "Maiden's Leap" because in the distant past, three maidens tried to escape Ottoman enslavers by leaping from the rocks to preserve their honor. Besides preserving the memory of this story, the waterfall is also considered a place that brings good luck to young couples. They say that if you stand before the water with your loved one and hold hands, your relationship will be "strong as the waterfall and eternal as the rocks."
