Brashlyan is located in the heart of the Strandzha mountain, only about 15 km north of Malko Tarnovo and 62 km from Burgas. The village can be easily reached by car via the Burgas – Malko Tarnovo road, with clear and well-placed road signs. For those who prefer public transport, there is a bus line from Burgas to Malko Tarnovo that also stops in Brashlyan.

2-3 hours are enough for a full walk around the village, but if you want to soak in the atmosphere, enjoy the local cuisine, and visit nearby attractions, it is best to set aside a whole day. Brashlyan is a place that doesn't rush – the pace here is slow and peaceful, and that's part of its charm.

  • The Architectural and Historical Reserve – over 70 houses have been declared cultural monuments, preserving the Revival spirit with stone foundations and wooden verandas.

  • The Church of "St. Dimitar" from the 18th century – impressive with its history and restored cell school.

  • The Ethnographic Museum – housed in an old house, showcasing the life and traditions of the Strandzha people.

  • The legends of the sundew (rosen) – in the surroundings there are meadows associated with beliefs about the miraculous power of the herb, especially on Enyovden (St. John's Day).

The village bears its old name – Sarmashik, which means ivy in Turkish. The name is a symbol of resilience and evergreen strength. A walk along the cobblestone streets is like a journey back in time – you will hear stories of hayduts (rebels), of the struggle of the local people, and of the song "Yasen mesets vech izgryava" (Bright moon already rises), which immortalizes the spirit of the region.

  • Dokuzak Waterfall – only a few kilometers from the village, easily accessible and particularly beautiful in spring.
