Nightingale Rocks

🏞 Introduction

The rock phenomenon Slaveevi Skali (Nightingale Rocks) is located about 5.5 km west of Velingrad, in the Alabak massif, below Chernovets Peak. They represent an impressive stone crown about 10 meters high, towering over the surroundings and offering an incredible view of the Chepino Valley, the city, and the surrounding Rhodope peaks. The place is not only a natural landmark but also an ancient sanctuary, used since the Bronze and Iron Ages.

  • From Velingrad, the route starts from the Kamenitsa district, following the signs to the chapels "St. George" and "St. Nicholas".
