Shiroka Laka is located in the heart of the Rhodope Mountains, approximately 24 km from Smolyan, 11 km from Pamporovo, and 22 km from Devin. The village is easily accessible by car – the road is picturesque, passing through dense forests and steep slopes that gradually lead you to one of the most beautiful corners of Bulgaria. If you are coming from Sofia, the journey is about 3.5–4 hours, and from Plovdiv – about 2 hours.

  • The authentic Rhodope houses – Zgurovska, Uchikovska, and Grigorovska are among the most famous. Their stone roofs and wooden verandas are true masterpieces of Revival architecture.

  • The Church of the Assumption (1834) – impresses with its unique iconostasis, painted in a style similar to the Zograph brothers' school.
